AxisPointe provides builders and commercial contractors with construction jobsite risk auditing, QA inspection, plan reviews, enterprise level QA and customer service software and technical training services. We are looking to expand our operations throughout the USA and Canada.
AxisPointe is looking for experienced forensic architects and Quality Assurance construction consultants for residential and commercial new construction. Full and part-time positions are available, with some candidates able to work from home. Field QA consultants will typically travel from home to various job sites, which may also require air travel and overnight stays.
We require a minimum of 10 years full-time experience in the construction industry, and candidates with a broad base of practical experience are preferred. ICC inspector certifications, licensed building contractors and other certifications are beneficial as an adjunct to practical hands-on experience.
Since much of our field interaction involves positive training and reinforcement of best practices, the successful candidates must possess a servant attitude for our clients and a passion to help AxisPointe clients become the best in the industry. Candidates must also be able to demonstrate excellent grammar and communication skills, along with intermediate computer and smart phone practical knowledge.
Field consultants must be in excellent physical condition to meet the demands of a dangerous construction site, be able to access scaffolding, climb ladders, and safely navigate exposed heights using appropriate safety equipment. A physical agility and capabilities test along with extensive technical training tests are required prior to employment.
Forensic Architect
- Licensed architect in California, Arizona, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Texas (preferred)
- NCARB certification preferred
- 10 years minimum experience personally conducting forensic investigations in construction defect related claims involving residential and/or commercial property.
- 5 years minimum practical construction experience in framing, foundations, roofing, or other major trades
- Excellent technical writing and grammar skills
- Technical CADD drafting skills, must be able to efficiently draw best practices details and sketches as needed
- Excellent ability to interpret blueprints and specifications for identifying constructability issues, non-compliance issues, code violations, and omissions or errors in water managed wall, roofing, and below grade waterproofing details and systems.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently meet budgets and deadlines
- Passionate about learning and teaching others
- Excellent driving history, no DUI history
- Successful candidates must pass AxisPointe Forensic Plan Review training course and exams
- Must be able to pass a drug, background and credit check
QA Field Consultant
- Licensed general contractor in California, Arizona, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Texas (preferred)
- 10 years minimum practical hands-on construction experience in framing, foundations, roofing, or other major trades
- Excellent technical writing and grammar skills
- Capable of quickly interpreting blueprints and specifications and identifying non-compliance conditions in the field using AxisPointe’s mobile software.
- Good knowledge of all major construction systems including waterproofing, foundations, framing, utilities, thermal, water management, and life safety components.
- Ability to work efficiently in the field on various job sites under all kinds of weather extremes.
- Passionate about learning and teaching others
- Excellent driving history, no DUI history
